Membership must be renewed at the start of each membership year (July 1). Lapsed members lose voting rights until renewed. There is no grace period.

What active membership gives you
Active members in good standing hold these rights under the I Am Brampton By-Laws.

Vote at the Annual Meeting
Every active member may cast a vote at the AGM held each April. Board of Directors and Officers are elected by simple majority of members present.

Nominate Board candidates
Members may nominate candidates from the floor at the Annual Meeting, provided the prior consent of each nominee has been secured before the meeting.

Stand for election
Any eligible member can stand for election to any of the five Board positions — President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, or Director. Terms are two years starting May 1.

Shape the organization
Members can propose amendments to the By-Laws at the Annual Meeting. Amendments require a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of attending members to pass.
